It’s been a while since anything happened here, and because I have a bit of time at the moment I thought I would update the site. No new content yet but I’ve made a number of changes:

• Upgraded Wordpress to version 2.7.1.
• Changed the theme to iNove designed by mg12.
• Reclaimed a few genuine comments from the spam bin.
• Fixed some issues that people where complaining about.
• Remove the “about me” page because it served no purpose.

From some reason I decide to upgrade to the new WordPress 2.2. Naturally the template and half the plugins broke and I don’t have time to fix it just now. Well it’s not like anybody reads this or anything.

If you have been to my website before then doubtless you will have noticed a few changes occurring. Fundamentally I have moved hosting companies, but there are lots of cosmetic things as-well. Most of this stuff happened months ago, but I haven’t had a chance to mention it. Read more…

I am in the process of migrating am my websites accross to a new host. Things may be a bit broken for a while, please comment if you find any problems.There where a number of reasons for moving (from XCalibre) but the final straw was the inability to run the latest version of wordpress due system limiations. So I got a Linux VM from Bytemark and now I have complete control over everything.Oh and kittens ftw –>

So there are probably a bunch of problems with this site at the moment. I attempted to upgrade Wordpress to version 2.1 but unfortunately it requires MySQL 4.0, and this host only runs 3.23. So after a not altogether successful backtrack, the site is left with some glitches; most notably some images are gone and all the plugins are down. Will get it fixed soon hopefully.

I’m back on-line now; yay!  Had 1500 spam comments on the site so I installed some spam management plugins which proptly deleted everything. So now I’m restoring all the non-spam comments from backups. If you posted anything recently then you may want to post it again because I may miss it.

I am changing ISP at the moment so I will be offline for a while.

Still working at Telegen flogging insurance to middle aged house wives. Today I said "Hello my name is blah and I’m calling on behalf of blah." to about 450 people.

Joined LinkedIn, which is one of those networking sites but seems to be more professionally orientated and less Brazilian than your average orkut.

I have officially moved to Brighton. Edinburgh is lovely but I needed a change and there are many more job opportunities for a Web Developer here. To improve my chances I have written a new and much improved version of my CV and I have updated the Web-Design category to be slightly more useful as a folio. I am still working on the front-end pages so I can use this blog as a back-end though it may take a while.

Today the WordPress version of kitty0.org goes live and the root location redirects to /blog. This will hopefully be temporary while I code the actual home page. I haven’t actually even begun this and I don’t have much time at the moment so it may be a while. My idea for this page is to have integrated highlights of the sub-sites along with a few amusing features like Top10 Referers and other useless toys.

The old Typo3 version of the site can still be found here:  kitty0.org/typo3/0/. Most of the content has been migrated in to the blog so the only good reason for going there is to look at the pretty colours. Though there is a gallery there that I haven’t yet imported. I can’t decide whether to use a WordPress plugin, stand alone gallery software or something custom build to host my pictures.
